Outsourced Smart Procurement Services (OSPS)

Outsourced Smart Procurement Services (OSPS)

Vanir Marine is experienced in negotiating competitive contract prices from quality suppliers around the globe. We can offer a full or part procurement function to support ship owners or ship managers for a fixed monthly fee, covering critical supplies such as lube oils, chemicals, paints, medicines, stores, consumables, provisions, bonds, and much more. The unique value proposition here is that clients of the extended workbench have access to Vanir Group procurement contracts (subject to supplier acceptance). Very often, savings via scaled purchases are much higher than procurement service fees!

The main target clients are shipowners between 1 and 15 vessels that experience either permanent or temporary needs for professional sourcing for their fleets in a global system of 79 categories, 11 competitive tenders, and global deliveries via logistic hubs. Either full outsourcing or chosen categories can be contracted with customizable approval processes and budget controls.

This service offers you peace of mind, safe in the knowledge that the skilled team at Vanir Marine will handle everything from the effective planning and ordering of a vessel’s day to day requirements through to the liaison with reliable logistics companies to arrange the delivery of important supplies, even in the remotest areas, on time, every time.

This service procurement option is completely transparent and fully auditable by our clients with a flexible range of options from a permanent/ temporary arrangement to a specific project or category-based agreement.

Vanir Marine can operate using its proprietary online purchasing management system (PMS) by setting up a client-specific account, or we are equally at home using a client’s own purchasing system (outsourced procurement).

Depending on individual client needs, Vanir Marine’s service procurement can include the following:

  • Arranging repairs/service engineers as and when needed.
  • Arranging for a vessel’s technical inspections/audits.
  • Supply planning and procurement of all commodities.
  • Undertake all accounting functions, including vendor’s payments.
  • Negotiate better contracts with long-term supply partners to get fixed rates for commodities. This includes carrying out all vendor inspections and audits.
  • Provide detailed analysis on all data in user-friendly reports to help with future projections and client decisions.
  • Create a paperless exchange of information by linking all our processes through our efficient state-of-the-art software system.
  • Deploy digital catalogues to our served vessels to permit hassle-free requisition raising.
